History
Founded in November 2006, CMFI sought to establish a ministerial organisation that would meet the needs of men in ministry who were taking a stand for Biblical truth. The necessity for such an organisation came about due to the rising tide of apostasy sweeping the church in Britain, one result of which was that those ministers who resisted, and refused to compromise their Biblical beliefs and standards, could find themselves at odds with the stance of their denominational churches, and consequently rejected from their ministries.
At the same time, along with those churches and their leaders who were maintaining truth, a growing number of small, independent, Biblically sound fellowships were springing up, but the leaders of these churches and fellowships often had little contact with other similar ministers and ministries. It was evident that there was a need for a ministerial organisation that would be a point of contact, and would provide essential spiritual support, encouragement and credentials for Biblically sound ministers. At the inaugural meeting in 2006, 13 men met together, the foundational constitutional and doctrinal principles of CMFI were agreed upon, a Council of Elders was elected, and work began to implement the vision.
The succeeding years have seen CMFI establishing its home base in UK and Ireland, and growing and developing into an organisation with international aspirations and members as far afield as the Philippines, Australia, S. Africa and USA. Many have testified of their appreciation of the crucial encouragement and help that CMFI has been to them in their ministry. There is also now a growing recognition of the tremendous needs of the day, and that the Lord is calling CMFI, not to be purely a ministry to ministers, but that also, through affiliations, CMFI can be a tool in God’s hands for spiritual support and encouragement of the wider Body of Christ, and in particular to those of the ‘remnant church’ who desire to proclaim Biblical truth without compromise. To that end, 2015/16 has seen CMFI hearing the call of God to raise a standard, and embarking on a process of re-envisioning, and strengthening of the home base in preparation for all that God has planned for CMFI in the days ahead.
These are exciting times in the will of God for CMFI, and as CMFI continues to grow and develop in its service to the Lord and to His church worldwide, we expect God to do great things, and to further guide and empower CMFI and its membership to do its part in aiding the fulfilment of the Great Commission in these last days before the Lord’s return. We welcome you to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider CMFI, and to seek as to whether the Lord would have a place for you among the fellowship of its members.
